IBM Takes Nagpur Turn

IBM India has announced its operations in Nagpur, as part of its expansion plans to enter 14 new cities in the country, in line with its strategy to make India a truly global hub. This would enable IBM to strengthen its pan India foothold and cater specially to the requirements of the various SMB clients spread in the city of Nagpur and its neighbouring markets.
"Nagpur, a strong manufacturing and resource hub for many industries, will be an important market for IBM and this initiative will further cement our commitment to deliver things faster and better to our customers," said Ramesh Narasimhan, director, GSMB, IBM India.IBM's operations in Nagpur will target various clients in media and newspaper, manufacturing, food and dairy, mining and services, research and education and textile sectors, amongst others.
IBM's portfolio of clients in Nagpur includes Indorama Synthetics (I) Ltd, Morarjee Textiles, Jayaswals Neco Group, Western Coal Fields, Mineral Exploration Corp Ltd, Neeri, Vishweswarya National Institute of Technology, Haldiram Foods International Ltd, Lokmat Newspapers, Nagpur Nagrik Sahakari Bank.
The Big Blue is slated to spread its wings in nine additional cities including Nashik, Surat, Bhubaneswar, Jamshedpur, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Dehradun, Vizag and Madurai, with Coimbatore, Goa, Lucknow and Bhopal already being operational.
