BSNL cuts STD rates by 50% .NEW RATES MOBILE

New Delhi: Going a step ahead of its competitors, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), the country’s largest telecom service provider, slashed STD charges on its cellular and fixed-line networks by up to 50% on Monday. BSNL’s STD rates are now the lowest in the country.
The telecom PSU has reduced STD call charges to all networks from its landline to Rs 1.20 per minute from Rs 2.40.

Intra-circle call charges within the BSNL network and inter circle (STD) call charges to all networks have also been reduced by 50% per cent, BSNL CMD Kuldeep Goyal said all rate revisions will take effect immediately.
The STD rate for BSNL’s postpaid mobile services has been reduced to Rs 1.20 per
minute from Rs 2-2.40 when the call is made to a BSNL network and to Rs 1.40 per minute to other networks. For postpaid customers, local calls will be charged at a flat Re 1 per minute irrespective of networks.
Roaming charges under prepaid and postpaid services have also been revised. All incoming calls while roaming will be charged at Re 1 per minute, down from Rs 1.75. The
company has also introduced an offer under which a BSNL customer can choose one BSNL number each to make a local call at 20 paise per minute and STD call at 60 paise per minute. No additional charge will be levied for this facility.
For prepaid customer too, STD tariff has been reduced from Rs 2-2.40 per minute to Rs 1.20-1.50. Two new plans, Saral Anant and Super One India, have also been launched. TNN
